Default Life after the Biscuit fire.

An interesting article concerning the state of the region after the Biscuit fire. Note how many tourists utilize the National Forest and Wilderness areas.

Life goes on after the big burn.

Seems that there are two points of view. The human aspect and the natural aspect. For those that pay attention to these things the natural recovery will be astonishing for those that can appreciate it. Fire is not a catastophic event in nature, it is an opportunity for rebirth, it is a cycle.

It will recover, mother nature is very resilient. Fire is actually good for a forest, it will be along time before there are big trees again but the grasses and native plants will come back and so will the animals. The tourists will be disapointed for a few years but give it time. The article makes some good points about people who do go into the area be very careful not to disturb things to much.

Fuel equals fire, the question is not if it will happen, but how much money we will use trying to postpone it. I bet there were lots of Morel Mushrooms to be had down ther tis spring.
