I'm a "newbie" here, and soon to be in the Pacific Northwest.
I've lived all my 50 years in Southern California.
I use to work on the sportfishing boats in my youth,it seems so long ago.I believe the first gig was on a ark and the skippers name was Noah....but dang, was the fishing ever good back then!
I can catch tuna, yellowtail, cbass, etc, with my eyes closed.....but don't have a clue about angling for the critters up north,heck....I've never caught a Salmon....ever!
I'll be moving to Whidbey Island,Washington in August. As soon as the house is "livable",I will haul my big ol' plumber contractor butt to the marina,I have my eye on a 37' Tollycraft. That should be more important than any ol' stupid house,I agree,but....I'm married and remember,I'm a semi-retired plumbing contractor,so I know something about taking the path of least resistance...
I hope you don't hold my "Calle-foreign-aid" roots against me.....Heck,I had nut'n to do with where I was hatched
But I'll sure be need'n some help learning the ropes of down-rigging,river hole plunking, and all the fishing opportunities your lovely area has to offer.....
I'll chuck my plates at the Oregon/California border
Thanxs All.....
