Default Fishing suggestions near Loon Lake

I am going to be camping in southern oregon @Loon Lake (fairly close to Reedsport) the first week in August. The camping trip is mainly a family trip, but I am looking for any suggestions for a day trip somewhere during the week, even possibly with a guide? Any suggestions would be great, as this will be a first time trip to this part of the state.

Thanks in advance!

Salmon should be showing in the Reedsport Area/Ocean, you can do that or you could go small mouth bass fishing near Elkton within 30 miles or so. Bass fishing is great fun and so is salmon fishing if they are there and the weather is nice.

Good luck!

Is there good bank access near elkton, or would you need to float it?

There is some bank access below the elementary school and at the park in Elkton. If you want a guided trip that will put you into lots of fish the Big K Ranch has services and there are some local guides that can put you into fish. Smallmouth bass are in the numbers this time of year up that way. There may be some salmon entering Windy bay by then and you can fish for them with spinners. Sawyers Rapids resort may let you fish from the rocks for a small fee. It has been a while since I stopped there. Loon Lake has lots of bass in it also. If you camp at the BLM campground say hello to the tall red head college student working there, she is my niece.
