Yale Lake Fri & Sat
Fished Yale both Fri and Sat with newbies. Launched at Saddle Dam Park, never been there before as I usually launch at Yale Park. Nice ramp and ample parking for a Fri.
Fri took out of town guests, two twin 11 yr old boys and their dad, and fished by the dam, which I had never done before and the bite was on. When the bite slowed went to the Yale Park area and it was dead. Went back over by the dam and the bite was on again. Should have never leave when you are catching fish. Ended the day with 25, but the boys lost as many as we caught trying to horse them in. It took them w while to get the hang of koke fishing.
The most of the morning bite was green beads w/silver wedding rings @40' to 45' on downriggers. The biggest fish came at 60' DR clip on a 28oz cannon ball sinker attached to braided line using FWG green dodger and matching beads. Sorry no pics lost my dig camera and waiting for my birthday.
Sat also took newbie friends and I was reminded why I don't like to fish on Sat when the weather is nice. By the time the temp warmed up it was a zoo on the water, thought I was on the ocean it so bumpy. Fished the same way as Fri, but the morning bite by the dam was really slow as compared to Fri. managed only 10, but lost twice that many as I let my friend and his son bring in all the fish. The most important thing is a good time was had by all.
