Well, now what do we do?
Disobedient Dog Refuses Court Order, Risks Arrest (6/16)
When the Gordon family's dog Lucille received a jury summons, they simply wrote "Lucy is a dog" on the document and sent it back to the Sacramento County courthouse. Apparently, being a canine doesn't merit an automatic exemption. A few months later, another letter arrived instructing Lucy to perform her civic duty. Her owner, Caryn Gordon, called and explained that Lucille is a dog. The jury commissioner didn't buy it. The Gordons were told they had to prove that Lucy is in fact a dog or a warrant would be issued for her arrest. They were also told that a photo wouldn't do—and they couldn't actually bring her into the courthouse since she isn't a seeing-eye dog.

Let them come and get her? I want to see the handcuffs they will use. Will animal control have to provide council? I'm sure she has no job to pay for a lawyer. How will they take her to court if she isn't allowed in the building?

Seems like a load of crap to me...dont you have to be a registered voter to recieve a jury summons? My father got a social security number for his dog once....."Billy-Bob Johanson" got a mailbox full of credit card applications so I guess anything is possible.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">I'm not sure about that. It seems I read awhile back where there were also using driver's licenses. I could be wrong though. Anyway, that still wouldn't explain this mix-up.

My chocolate's registered name is Molly Brown. To the best of my knowledge, she's never received any mail, except for new tags once in a while. This whole thing seems a little funky. On the other hand, we're talking about Kabulfornia.

hhhmm, sounds like it might be a case of some phony ID's or something going on. Maybe tax deductions?? Hard to say.
My buddies dog is an ordained minister in some funky wacko church back east. Cost him $20 and mail in the app. Has the cert. sitting on his mantle.
