Default Coast Guard and friends

While all of our thoughts and prayers have been for the friends and families of those who lost loved ones, we should not forget the other people involved.

To the Coast Guard, Fire Dept, Law Enforcement, and the bystanders that risked their lives, you are all in our thoughts and prayers. It is never easy to mitigate tragedy, even in the best of outcomes it will take a toll. Take solice in the fact that you did everything you could. Take comfort in your family and hug them a little tighter. Do not dwell on what you should have done different. Know that the images you had to witness will soften with time. Most of all, know how grateful and proud we are to have you folks around.

Thank you and God Bless.

Bird Nest. What great way to put it. I do not know you, but if I ever have the opportunity to meet you I will shake your hand. Jerry

Bird Nest, well stated. Too easy to forget those heros and the emotional trama that can be suffered.

In my agency we have teams of Incident Stress Counselors that often are dispatched immediately upon these sorts of unfortunate events - not only to help out the victims' family and friends, but also those who have been involved in the situation in any way.

This is a very serious matter that can easily be overlooked or taken for granted by all, regardless of their roll in the incident. Professional help can help make the healing process somewhat less painful, or at least get it started. If you're having emotional problems related to this tragedy don't hesitate to seek help, whether its from a professional in this line of business, the church, a compassionate listener, or whatever.

Take care, and God Bless all those who have been impacted in any way by this unfortunate accident.

Thanks, Birdnest, for looking at the bigger picture and thinking of all those involved. You said the words we needed to say...needed to hear.

Thanks.
