Default E-Tec 90 w/pump vs. prop vs. 115H.O. E-Tec w/prop

Hey yall! I currently run a 17' thunderjet powerbolt open model with a 90hp e-tec/pump. Question is, how much will I gain putting the prop back on? and how much will I gain with a 115 H.O. E-Tec prop in this boat? I can run allout @ 32mph with the pump. Thanx in advance for all input!

Matt

I dont know what kind of answer you're looking for, but the short answer is that a 90 prop will likely be more than enough on that boat.

You lose approximately 30% hp at the nozzle w/ a pump. A 90 prop is usually even adequate on 20' open boats with shallow degree hulls.

I run a 115 prop on an 18' open alumweld. It is plenty fast, 1-2 boat lengths and I'm on step w/ 3 people aboard. If you can run >30mph with a 90 pump I'd say you have plenty of motor. Save $$ for 2stk oil and bait, IMHO.
