Re: Sad, cold ,sight...
Looks familiar....
I just had lunch and my boat begs to be attended to...what a mess...Ice all over the place ...at least I got the Jr. hog Hunter out there shoveling the driveway and warming up vehicles...Hopefully he will start on the boat next...
I am preparing to go outside and warm the cabin up in the boat to thaw some things out...
Major Job to say the least...

And damn I just looked out the winder and noticed that the weather got worse her. more frezzing rain) .
Will it ever end never thought I'd like to see 40 degree rain

Re: Sad, cold ,sight...
Ditto, just waiting for sunshine to take care of mine....Not the best idea on a cold January day.
I can see my boat jsut outside my home office window and keep thinking I am due a break. I think I will put a small electric heater inside the boat to thaw out the canvas before the ice breaks through.
I sure would like to go our for a couple hours but not today.

Re: Sad, cold ,sight...
Steve,
The once proud battle wagon looks a little under the weather (like 9" under). I like the looks of her better with the big red stripe down the side!
I can't even find the sled-O-matic 22000. White-out conditions and drifting have reduced my boat to a large whiteish-grey lump. Maybe the supervisory committee (Wife) will let me build a barn for it to live in...naw! Heck it wouldn't ever start again on cold mornings once it got used to sleeping inside.

Fishbait, Question sir. Who made the mooring top for your boat, and can it be left on while towing the boat?
Thanks

Re: Sad, cold ,sight...
Geez, these pictures really got to me. Had to run out to the shop to make sure my new boat was resting comfortably inside.
Last week it looked much the same as your pictures - covered with a large tarp and burdened under what seemed like a ton of snow.
Couldn't take it any longer - got some help removing the overhead light bar so I could tuck her in snug-as-a-bug in the shop. There, there Baby....warmer weather and good times afloat are just around the corner.

Re: Sad, cold ,sight...
Busted!
FNF, you're the 2nd person to ask that question. Denali wanted to know how many trips I made out to it the first day or so I had it. I was too embarassed to give him a number.
Yeah, the brainstorming is a wonderful past-time - so many plans.....so little money. Gotta stay off eBay. Too many temptations out there. Maybe if I go back out to the shop, away from the computer, telephone, and various fishing and marine catalogs I can get through this and still be able to pay the bills.

Re: Sad, cold ,sight...
The dry, fine, powdery snow that fell in my driftboat found it's way out the drain. I've got my boat tilted up to drain ... I got a good smile when I saw this impromptu snow cone this afternoon.

Re: Sad, cold ,sight...
I couldn't make it to the barn or the shop without falling down. Solid ice. I'm just going to have to have faith that the boat is still out there and dry.
Maybe by tomorrow. I'm getting a tad stir crazy hanging inside the house having meaningful conversations with my dog. Then again the 3 pots of coffee kind of wound me up a bit.

FearNoFish I recognize your boat from up at the dam. We saw ya pounded the springers last spring. My partner would say, that guy in the oyster barge has another one on. I'll give you a howdy in a few weeks.

Re: Sad, cold ,sight...
My boat, my dog and I all get to sleep inside. My dog and I have to share the house, while the boat sleeps alone in the shop. Over a foot of snow out there. I remember the days I had to park it outside in the weather. Every spring meant a tune-up and the top never did heal up from all the snow. The upholstery faded, the carpet rotted, but it's all mine and paid for. Now that I have a shop to keep the boat in, I want a new one. A boy and his toys ......

Re: Sad, cold ,sight...
Pete!! For shame!
Fine white crystals from the drain of your boat... so that is how you support your fishing fix-providing "snow" for somebody elses fix. You just don't know these days
That was dry snow, wouldn't even stay in the trees.

Talking away the resolution is only half the equation. You have to resize it also. You can do it in MS paint or the Microsoft photoediting software that comes in XP.

Reel fun,
The top was made by Stevens in Tigard, it is made of TopGun Material, good stuff. Yes on towing, I designed it so it could be left on for towing, in fact, it makes quite a big differance towing when it is on.

Just spent 3hrs deiceing the Predator. All is well,no top damage,a little snow got in but all in all life is good. Got the propane heater cranked drying out the inside. Next stop is a tune up,then springers beware.
