My girl is having pups!!!

OK, so I'm stuck down here in Corvallis trying to study for my finals next week, while my huntin' buddy is having her pups. So far, 2 blacks (1 male, 1 female) and a chocolate male. Should be all done by later on this afternoon.

Now the for the tough part. I want one so bad I can't even stand it, but SHOULD I take one? I'm graduating this year (in 7 days) in Pre-Dentistry from OSU, I'll be taking 1 year off, then off to whatever dental school I get accepted to. That's where the trouble is, if I get in to OHSU (#1 choice, but not likely), then I already have a house (renting one from the folks)that I can have a dog in, but most likely I'll be off to somewhere else in the nation(San Fran, Boston,....?). So do I take one and hope that I get into OHSU or find a house wherever I get accepted that allows pets, or is that not being fair to the pup? What if I can't take him with me?

What do you think? What would you do?

You can always try telling the landlord it's your seeing eye dog!!!

Jeez, that's a tough one. If the pups are purebred, you could probably find a good home for yours if you were forced to give it away or sell it. But this sounds like you'll have 2 dogs to deal with (since you have the mother) and that makes it even worse. I had to give away a black male pup a few years ago, and althought he went to an excellent home, it still sucked. :depressed:
But if you're taking a year off, a lot can happen during that year. You might land a good job and bag dental school, or change your plans a couple of dozen times. Been there, done that.
