Default what kind of weight for...

what kind and how much is needed for plunking at places like bonneville, meldrum bar? also, for the springers off meldrum, what size line do most use? Thanks....

You'll want pyramids. depending on where you are fishing and the current, you could need anywhere from 6 ounces to 20 ounces.

Most people use 25-40 lb. mono. I use 25-30 lb. Maxima and 15 lb. for my lead dropper. I wouldn't recommend braid as you are usually fishing near quite a few "friends", and sometimes lines get crossed and braid can cut mono.
