Default leaky gas tank

Have sea sport with 50 gal tank accessible from the deck. The leak is coming from the fuel sensor cap on top of the tank( 5 screws ) . One of the screws was stripped and that is where the leak appears to be originating. I order a new gasket and retapped the bad hole. reassembled however still leaks ( not as much). I can get it to leak by rocking by boat on its trailor thus sloshing a full tank of gas against the top. Ive called several boat places, napa and car quest and can not get a difinative answer on a rtv sealant that is gas proof. Did find one that said gas resistant. any suggestions on a sealant or a fix. The present gasket is rubber.
