Went to Simtustus this morning and managed a couple but the fishing wasnt nearly as good as it was a month ago. For some reason the fish i got today were small compared to a month ago also. I decided to head to LBC to see whats happening there. I figured id drive to Perry South to launch since the other ramps were plugged with people. I saw a couple signs saying Perry South was closed, i continued on thinking it was just full and werent any camping spots available. Just before dropping down to the campground i stopped at another closed sign. It had some papers alongside it. Apparently 2 adult bears and a cub have been seen in the C.G. The last few days so they gated it off. A wasted trip!!
Interestingly enough, we're downloading the pics from my wife's digital camera so that later I can post our Simtustus report from last Thursday, where we had an epic day of fishing and did pretty well (for us).
Around Indian Camp. I only fished for about 2 1/2 hours but it was tough fishing this morning for some reason! I definitely was doing better their a month or 2 ago.
We kept on going past Indian Camp (we were camping at Pelton) and then the lake took a left, and we fished through there before sundown. We didn't hook anything huge (except a pikeminnow), but the rainbow action was amazing! If I ever had a "you shoulda been there yesterday" day, that was it.
Well, i caught a lot of rainbows but they got released, i was jigging for kokes.
