E-mail address update - A Tutorial

Another instructional tutorial from the folks at Ifish.net!

Ifish requires that members keep the e-mail address on their account current. It's simple to do if you follow these steps:

First you open "Profile".

Then click "View/Update Profile".



_________________________________________________

Next, type in your new e-mail address.



_________________________________________________

Finally, click the "Update Profile" button.



A new password will be sent to that address which you will need the next time you log in.

If you have any questions, post them here and I'll try to answer them.

Also, while you're in the Profile area, look around! There's some interesting stuff you can do with your account.

PS You can change your password back if you would like after logging in under the new one that is sent to you.

How about one to cover the various search features? Forum searches. Topic searches. Member searches. How about a search for the elusive Giant Squid?

Search Instructions:

1) Identify topic of interest to ***.
2) Post question relating to topic.
3) Check back in 3 to 5 minutes for detailed response.

UPDATE: We are now using software called THREADS. The procedure for updating your e-mail address is much easier!

1) Click "My Home" at the top of the screeen

2) Under the heading "Main Configuration" find the line "Personal information, email, password, etc." and click on "EDIT".

3) Go down to the 5th and 6th lines. You must have a valid e-mail in the first box. In the second one is where you put an address you want other Ifish members to use. It's possible for non-members to see that one, so you may want to "mung" it by typeing "AT" instead of "@" or "DOT" instead of "." to prevent unauthorized uses.

4) Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click "SUBMIT".

That's all there is to it!
