Hey Folks,
I'm posting this to all of you in an attempt to get your votes for the North Fork John Day Watershed Council.
There is an ongoing contest to vote for a salmon/steelhead restoration group so they can win $5,000 that would go towards salmonid restoration in the Pacific Northwest. My wife is the council coordinator and I am also on the board. We do a lot of great restoration work in the North Fork, Middle Fork, and Mainstem John Day area. Our mission is to restore critical salmonid spawning and rearing habitat which includes fencing, irrigation improvements, LWD placements, and improve habitat structure on private and public lands throughout the area. They are completely non profit and are under staffed and under funded. I know $5,000 doesn't sound like much, but it means some part time help for some upcoming projects. As some of you know, the John Day is the longest un-damned river in the West and the last place that has no stocking enhancements. If we are going to restore native salmon and steelhead population in Oregon, this is the last remaining place to do so.

I know some of you may be affiliated with other programs on the list, but please cast your vote for the North Fork Watershed Council. It means alot to us and we do very good work.
We live along the Middle Fork John Day so if you're an Ifish member and vote for us, I will personally take you on a tour of restoration work and show you some fishing holes if you're in the area. We have some great trout fishing and some of the most beautiful scenery in Oregon.
Also, I'm going to be on the Deschutes fishing with a friend in mid August. How's the fishing over there in August?????
