Default Another reason I should leave CA

Took my 2 sons and boat to Folsom Lake today. I have been there dozens of times, the fishing has been very good this year.

Last July, I bought a 1 year pass for all CA state parks. $35 and I am set for the year, boat included!

Enter our Democrat governor Gray Davis, and CA state's $35 to $45 billion deficit this year. I knew the season pass went from $35 to $67 per year, but I thought that $67 would cover the boat as season passes always had.

When I arrived at the lake, I showed my season pass. I was told I had to pay an additional $4 for the boat. Hmmmmmmmmm.

The ranger was pleasant enough, but I was not thrilled. I have had the same pass, and it is valid until July. They just changed the rules midstream.

The $67 pass does not get the boat into the lake. That is $4 per launch additional, or another season pass for the boat for $45. $112 this year compared to $35 last year, and the year before.

A day pass is $7 for the car, and $4 for the boat. Ouch.

How much is it to launch in OR and WA? I wanna go home!

Boat launching is free in Klamath County. No one here has any money anyway :depressed:

Keta, too funny!

Move to Portland and the launch will either be free or a couple of bucks but it will be so crowded with the unemployed out fishing for dinner that you'll have a hard time parking your rig.

In Cowlitz Co. Wa. the Kalama Marina just says donations. At Willow Grove Co. Park it is $5:00 per launch or $35:00 for a year pass(I think ). Rainier Or. is free. Rainier and Kalama get full fast on good fishing times and Willow Grove park has lots of parking but can get pretty full also.

I've seen launches around Puget Sound that are from $5 to $11. Then there's always the rough, dirt and mud free ones.

Oh you guys are too funny!

That seems like a drag from what you are saying Empire!

But stay there because you might see a bumper sticker that says; Californian's go home!

Just kiddin' (on my part). Welcome if you do decide. (Just stay out of my *******' fishin' hole)! Just kiddin' again!
