Default Sharkhide vs annual elbow grease

Just did a little hull polishing on my boat. The Meguires did awesome. I used their all metal polish, and it came out great. I know without Sharkhiding it, that will not last. However, I like the idea of being able to polish my hull when I want to. With Sharkhide you can't do that. You are bound to get dock rubs and the like. I prefer the chance to buff them out. Here is my question..If I polish and buff annually, or twice annually, is that bad for my hull (silly question probably). I only have a 20' boat and half is vinyl. It's just the transom and lower sides. This is cheaper than Sharkhide, but can I keep a clean looking hull by just polishing a couple times a year? I plan on being in salt 8-10 times a year. What has been your experience guys/ladies?

Thanks

just put sharkhide on it and save yourself many hours of labor.
I've had it on my for 4 years and finally coated the bottom
works great and never hit the dock hard enough to scuff it up
