Default oil injection outboard

I have an 8 HP Suzuki outboard that has oil injection. The reservoir sits under the hood and weeps oil when the engine is tilted forward which is the way I have it when I beach the boat at the lake. I have heard you can disable the oil injection and just mix the gas and oil in the tank like other two strokes. I was wondering if anyone knew how to do this or if you can just leave the oil reservoir empty and mix 50:1 gas and oil in the remote tank? Thanks

There's a pump that needs to be removed from the fuel system before you premix. Some you can pull the drive gear out of, some you can remove the pump altogether and put a block off plate on, or you could just loop the line from the inlet of the pump to the outlet of the pump. At the same time you need to block or completely remove the hose from the injection pump to the carburetor, as it will either let air in or fuel out.

Once you do one of those, premix your fuel.

"the motor runs at 50:1 oil, fuel mixture, all you need to do is take the oil pump off and take out the little drive shaft of the oil pump that makes it pump, put".

this is exactly how to do it..
