Considering how Whitsitt monkeyed with it every chance he got, that might not be a bad thing.
The Blazers need to cut salary where possible, keep the few decent guys they have, and go after one big signing, and a few second teir guys that can shoot and stay out of jail. Then save their pennies for a big time signing later on. Give Mo some time and stability to work on the team itself. IMO
Of course, I don't really care what they do, because I'm a Kings fan!! Better for me if Whitsitt stayed really.
Boy, did the Mavs get better defensively or what??

I'd like to see Bill Walton get involved. He is savvy enough to handle the job and would kick a little butt when needed (which is often with this bunch). His career, experience on and off the court would generate respect from today's player.

I'm not ready to cheer, yet. Whitsett and Allen may just appoint some puppet to do their dirty work and take directions for them ... we'll have a better idea when we hear who they are thinking of.
Among the good candidates, I'd love to see Drexler get a shot, but I also think Danny Ainge would be a good choice. Whoever it is, it needs to be someone that cares and has enough spine to make tough choices independent of the source of bucks.

I just might become a Blazer fan again. Only after they get rid of about two thirds of this over paid underachieving team. 
Whitset being gone is the best move they have made since winning the Championship a lifetime ago. Won't have a good team for some time now but at least they won't be smoking pot in thier yellow Hummers and beating up thier wives in Portland. I can cheer for a team if they are good players and good people and they are trying hard. [img]graemlins/applause.gif[/img]

I just read that he's keeping his job with the Seachickens. That means he'll still be in the background. We might not see him or hear him, but he'll be there. :depressed:

Whoever gets people happy for President (Clyde?), and someone who knows a little about the business side and player dealings for GM, I'm thinking Ainge would be a good guy for this. He knows quite a bit about player dealings and salary issues, is a standup citizen, and from Oregon to boot.
