Default burning music cd's

What software do you use to burn music cd's? I have never done this and would like to try it. Do you convert MP3's to CDA files? and then burn. How do you do it? Is there an easy to follow web site?

Thanks in advance!

I use Roxio. Its VERY simple! Did your PC come with a burner/software? If not, if you buy a CDRW it will come with software that will work. Its very simple. It will ask if you want to create a Music CD, Data CD, etc. You say Music, select the tracks, click burn, wait, enjoy.

Email me if you have questions.

I use either Nero, CloneCD, or Alcohol. No converting necessary, these make an exact duplicate image. If you have the right burner the last two make an exact duplicate of everything I've tried.

My Kazaa collection is starting to get huge, so the other day I sat down and tried to burn a CD. In the past I've copied CD's to CD's with no problem, but this was the first time I tried to put MP3's on to an audio CD. All I got was a CD-R with MP3 files on it. I have the Adaptec DirectCD software that came with the PC and the burner.
I haven't had a chance to screw around with it since, but there's gotta be something simple I'm missing.
Any suggestions?

1pump-

Music CDs are just .wav files, like the sound effects on your computer. If you convert your MP3s to .wav files, you can play them on regular stereo equipment or in your car. Don't expect as high a quality as regular CDs ('cause MP3 is a compressed format) but they're quite passable considering the cost involved.

A Google search for "convert+mp3+wav" (without the quotes) should keep you busy for a while. There are plenty of freeware solutions.

I use Roxio for most of my burning, but I like Musicmatch for burning music cd's. With musicmatch, you can put about 120 audio files on a cd in MP3 format. You do have to have a CD player that will play MP3's. Most of the newer players will read MP3 files.

No troubles with Nero Express.

You lose A LOT with MP3 compression - look for SHN format.

With Roxio, and probably others, you have an option to "finalize", or something like that, a CD. If you do, you can play it on anything. If you dont, only a PC will play it.

I use musicmatch but it sounds like Roxio might be worth looking into. Anyone got a quick link to that site or info???

It can be tricky especially with the new cd protection they are coming out on the audio cd's.. Get a Good quality burner.. Some will say they are all the same, when in fact they aren't.. Would you buy a datsun when you want the comfort of a cadi??

Lite ons are a popular brand today and they are decent burners.. (and they are cheap) But I p refer plextors.. kinda like the jaguar of the cd burners.. can do it all and they are rated to run contiually for around 70,000 hours.. about 7 years.

Programs? I would seriously look into Clone CD.. OR Alcohol 120%.. I wouldn't even take the time with roxio.. With clone or Alcohol you can burn ANYTHING.. and I do mean anything. Drop me a message if you need help with something. it is very easy to get great quality copies of anything out there.

Also what OS you using?
