Hey El Shaddai
Saw you pulling your boat down I-5 last week...Thursday or Friday I think. I was Northbound (slowly), you were Southbound (slowly). Drove past, was checking out the boat, looked in the rear view to see the back end of it and saw "El Shaddai" on it. Figure it had to have been you. Nice looking boat!

Re: Hey El Shaddai
Yeah, we saw him at Newport on Sat... wondered just how many boats he really has...
Hmmm...maybe there's more than one El Shaddai?
You holdin' out on us there, bud?

Re: Hey El Shaddai
That's too funny....I saw him Fri afternoon on Hwy 30 at the St Johns bridge. He was going east, me west.
If I'm not mistaken, it's a really nice Grady-White outboard. Didn't get a good look, but I'd guess 21-23'. Hard to miss the name in those big black letters.

Re: Hey El Shaddai
... And all this time I thought El Shaddai was the boat at the sea-wall end
of dock 3 at Depoe Bay!
The El Shaddai at Depoe bay is a 43'(?) troller/crabber that's not used a lot ...
he mostly just sits on the boat all day and sells live crab out of it!

Re: Hey El Shaddai
OK- time to ask what the translation of "Shaddai" is. Must be "The Everywhere"
Pretty sure he was in the Channel on Sunday!

Re: Hey El Shaddai
Well, God has a really nice boat, that's for sure. I hear He always has an open seat, if you're interested.

Re: Hey El Shaddai
Just to keep this mystery going, I say a Wellcraft coastal, maybe 24-26' in Detroit lake, three or four weeks ago, trolling by the island..."El Shaddai" written on the back.
Pretty boat.

Not sure...saw it for a short moment. Could be that one though. The name, where I saw it, was on the back in big black letters.

Re: Hey El Shaddai
Roger that, Stew. Sea wall end of dock 3, Dopey Bay. The old guy mostly just
sits on his boat these days selling live crab to the valley folk ...
His sump pumps that he uses to keep the crab alive add a LOT of electrical
current to the bay. I've asked him nicely to use different pumps but he says
they are too expensive ...

That boat has been around a few years. Depoe Bay is where it's moored isn't it?

Re: Hey El Shaddai
Would the real El Shaddai please stand up! My parents used to watch some show where they said that at the end when I was a toddler.......
Thanks for the comments on the boat......it is the 24' Wellcraft......it has been a real joy for my friends and family......
I was in Detroit Lake several weeks ago....my 2 1/2 year old son son caught his first fish....I wouldn't trade that day for 500 albacore......
I was on Hwy 30 and I-5 picking up my boat from Brown's Landing....it was in for some pre halibut service....
I was in Newport Saturday at the ranch with 200 other boats....we caught a couple of halibut and a really big ling......I must say it is no fun reeling up a black cod 600 feet...
And finally to clear up the rest of the mystery.....I had a sled with the same name that I spent quite a bit of time backtrolling at Bonnevile in the spring and fall as well as the on the Sandy River....many people have emailed me to ask if that was me...last fall I sold the sled and bought a boat more suited for offshore adventures....my sled is now navigating a river in Northern Alaska at a fish camp.....as is fitting...the El Shaddai in Depoe Bay and the El Shaddai on the life raft on some boat in Newport are unrelated....
Many people have found it interesting that my screen name is El Shaddai....I actually chose it because it is the name of my boat....it is the name of my boat for one simple reason...it is a public declaration of my faith...nothing more...those who know me know I love the Lord and I am a perfect example of God's grace....like many, the road behind me had many bumps and I did not know the Lord.....despite the past, the Lord accepted me unconditionally once I accepted His free gift....and He has been faithful to bless me and my family so it is with humility and gratitude that I acknowledge Him on my boat.....
As for open seats.....I will always have an open seat for a friend.....I was actually thinking of asking TFG to go salmon fishing offshore sometime...and then playing Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh cd's........just kidding Geek...(about the cd's).
