there's trout, bass, bluegill, and yellow perch in there. people say there is crappie in there too, but ive fished it for 10+ years and never caught one. i think people just get a off colored bluegill and call it a crappie. but anyways, i guess they catch the big ones trolling but we just always bait fished it in the creeks and did alright. ive only been there once this year on a bad day and didn't catch anything.

There are trout - rainbow and native cutts, large and smallmouth bass, black crappie, white crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, yellow perch, channel catfish, and bullheads. Rumors of sturgeon, but never actually seen one.

i've caught every one of those species except the channel cats and sturgeon. Have seen a couple channel cats on another fisherman's stringer.
Worms fished under a bobber or on the bottom will catch anything that swims in there. So will just about any type of lure. Powerbait works well for the trout. Eight state record smallmouth bass have been pulled from Hagg's waters. Lots of good fishing to be had in that lake.

Have been fishing Hagg for 20+ years.

The crappie mentioned above are sparse, but they're in there. Mostly hang out in the weedy creek arms @ the north end of the lake, and along the east shore.

We went today and didn't have to much luck.We fished from about 6:30 am to about 1pm throwing everthing in my tackle box at them, from trolling to anchoring. My dad did end up with 1 pretty nice fish about 16".thats the only fish we have ever caught there,I'm starting to think the fish don't like me there.

Didja remember to hold the worms in your mouth to keep 'em warm? Drat, just gave away the secret to catching all the lunkers in that lake!

We were there yesterday. Tried trolling for trout, numerous setups & depths. Only caught one tiny trout on a rainbow pattered needlefish. Decided to anchor up & give that a try. Chartreuse powerbait worked, fished off the bottom in 25' of water. Caught 11 for 3 people, all running 11"-14" & fat.
Have fun & good luck! Let us know how you & the boys do.

I usually stay away during the summer months. Water temps to high, no fish restocking during the summer, jet/water skiers. Their are other better summer lakes to visit where a guy can rest as he fishes. I do like the lake spring and fall though.
