D'oh!!! Help me make the call....

I have a dilemma.

Wife and I had been discussing the Cabo trip for the end of May...get away, relax, play, make a baby (been trying for over a year without luck), etc.

A while back, my friends wife mentioned to us that the end of May is my friends 35th birthday, and she wants to do a big party for him. This friend was the best man in my wedding. The date of the party....May 31st, same as when we wanted to do the Cabo trip (coincides with the "open window of opportunity").

So...that said...what would you do? I think I already know the answer, just looking for confirmation.

Family first CT. I read some of the other thread. You gotta keep yourself and mama happy first, then worry about the rest. You don't want him to be your best man AGAIN, do you? :smile:

Look, he would WANT you to be on the beach in Cabo. Sure, his wifely unit will want yo there, and you'll be missed. But make his 40th special. 35? Hey, he'll get over it!

Appreciate the inputs. I think I'm gonna let Mama make the call on this one. Technically, we were informed of the party before we started talking about Cabo.

I don't know if mama will be mad if we dont get away this month. She is cool about stuff...she just wants to get away and soak up some sun.

I've already emailed her asking what she thinks...but keep the votes coming. :grin:

It may seem like you want kids, but in 14 years you will say: "why why why oh why?"

Clearly you must take your friend to Cabo and have the party there.

Now I don't want to get too personal with ya, but conceiving under stress can be an issue, and travel is a form of stress for many people, remember stress comes in both good/bad forms.

I am sure it would romantic but wouldn't you be torn to go site see and enjoy the beach?...seems to me if conception was the goal a more focused setting might be more helpful...

my priorities
1. family
2. commitment to wife
3. other stuff

#2 understands #1 tradeoffs in almost all cases.

make the mrs. happy FIRST. No brainer here. Cabo would be very condusive to baby making. Try to plan it when she's in her "zone" of opportunity.
You buddy id he's a reall friend whould want you to do the vacation anyway.

His wife has already planned stuff out. We may try to buy him dinner the weekend before...cuz we're Cabo bound! WOOHOOOOO!!! Fun, sun, and baby making. What a great vacation!!

There's nothing special about the 35th birthday. He'll understand, or at least I would. His wife may not, but she'll get over it.

CT, my wife and I have two critters, 6 &3...we thought that #2 would not happen, but on the advise of a friend, we went and saw a very reputable herbalist...4 mos. later....Honey....you know the rest.
