Re: International Space Station over St. Helens
I figured if we all started praying now, they might have a better chance. You see, a while back a local boy and two other fellows did a very brave deed. At least I thought so.
Several months ago these three fellows, with no coxing at all suited up, took a last look around, climbed a seemingly endless stair case, crawled into their seats, buckled up and blasted off into outer space... in an aircraft built by the lowest bidder! You have to admire their gumption.
But today, I realized we ain't seen nothing yet when it comes to brave. No sir, not a thing.
You see come May third, them same three fellows will once again suit up, cram themselves into a tiny little compartment, strap themselves in and blast off. This time to come home in a Soyuz spacecraft built by the lowest bidder... in Russia! I think they just redefined the word brave.
Please say a prayer for the safe return of Silverton Oregon native Don Pettit and his two traveling companions, Ken Bowersox and Nikolai Budarin. Like I said, if we start now, they won't have no problems whatsoever.
