Default Toyota Tundra

Anyone out there own one? I'm looking to get a 2000 or 2001 once I sell my xterra. They are sure good looking and I figure you can't go wrong with quality. Need more room in the back for a baby car seat than my current extended cab has.

Have owned three 4 Runners and beat them hard, pulling boats. Never had any problems, oil changes and maintenance only.

Jumped on the 2000 Tundra when the V8 came out. Best rig I've ever owned and a 20 foot Willie Asaltor towing machine. No problems with it either.

Highly recommend this vehicle.

do you have the access cab (4 door) that's the one I'd get. Yes, bet it would tow my 16 foot boat and not know it.

Yes. Not a whole bunch of room in the back cab, but enough. No, you won't even know it's back there.

thanks, I'm stoked to get the truck. Also going to look for a used small station wagon type car. 50K miles or under, good fuel economy. All cuz of the little rug rat on the way.

I have a 2002 TRD Tundra and I love it. I only wish it had a little more room in the back.

My Father in law has a white 2001 TRD Tundra that he is selling to purchase a 2003 Tundra if you're interested. It is white, only has like 19,000 miles and in great shape. I think he's asking $24,500.

I have a 2000 Tundra. Nicest riding vehicle I ever road in. My one complaint is the rear door. When your parked next to someone, and want to put or get something in the back. Loading groceries from the cart is the biggest pain. Other than that, highly recommended.

thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback, positive or neg. I'm going to find one used, all I can afford right now. I have a budget of about 19k, want to pay cash outright. We have a 2001 xterra to sell first though. It's in great shape, loaded, with 25k miles if you know of anyone interested. Radke, do you find that the back seat is super crowded and uncomfortable, the back looks almost straight up. With seats moved forward a bit is the room acceptable?

I have an access cab too and have hauled around several of my clients in the back with few complaints. It is pretty small though. With the seats moved forward it makes a big difference.

2000 TRD-Limited
62,000 hard miles-many in 4x4
NEVER a problem
Awesome rig!!

Toad,

The only reason they didn't complain was because they were busy gagging on some old shrimp & eggs soaked hand towel that's been stuffed under the seat for 6 months. You're wading boots are pretty rank as well.

You've just grown used to it.

Maybe your nose is dead from our good buddy Pat's rear end.

1000 hp? How much torque do these motors have?

Just say no to spark plugs.

just say yes to glowplugs

being OHC engines, they probably dont produce tons of torque, but the fact remains toyota v8s and a few i6s(like in supra) are built really strong...
as for how they do it, a big turbo:P
there is a tundra v8 drag "truck"(using the term loosley there.. ) running 6s in the 1/4 right now too

Bonk,etc- Sorry but I'm not buying your 1000 HP
Tundra with a stock crank, rods, etc. Granted you
can do nearly anything if you throw enough money
at it, your not doing it with the stock parts, and
your not having 1000 hp in anything for very long.

Looks to be "slightly" mod'ed version of an otherwise stock truck.

Have an '02. Love it. Good road trip vehicle. Used to get real sore back when traveling long distances. Gone 600 miles in a day w/o any adverse effects. Tows nice, rides nice, about 17-18 mpg hiway.
