Default ODFW changes for 2010-2 rod permit!

This link was on the main forum. It has special implications for us:
http://www.registerguard.com/csp/cms...1-35/story.csp

After reading about the fee increases, we will finally have our 2 rod permit!!! Only for lakes and reservoirs. One of the things that bothers me is the $5 permit for invasive species (zebra mussels)
In CA, namely Tahoe this has taken the form of having inspectors at the ramps to check your hull before you can launch. If the inspector is late or doesn't show up, you can't launch. You can read lots of rants on the fishsniffer website.

You can't launch period, or until after the permit is obtained? Or buy the permit and still get inspected before each and every launch regardless of location Not much verbage in the article to go on. I couldn't find any news releases on the ODFW site that has any info about it.

I'm not so sure there will be guys out inspecting boats at 4-4:30 A.M. when I am launching. I won't be waiting around for them If they can't provide the required services during legal fishing hours, then the system is already broken before it starts.....We'll see

Oh yeah.......... 2-rod stamp

If I (a fisherman) am paying an extra $5 for an invasive species permit that helps fund inspectors salaries, they can darn well be at the boat launch when I launch, whether it be 4 am or 9 pm. If they're not there, I am still going to launch. The ODFW was formed to be there for the outdoorsmen/women, not the other way around. I pay my dues, abide by the rules that they set forth, but I'm blowing the whistle and throwing the penalty flag on this one. The intent is good, but preventing me from launching when I want to, that's not right.

That's cool about the two-rod limit.
