Jim Myron wasn't the culprit here. Jim Brown made the hard decision after the team was told by budgeters they were taking the 5 million. it was up to the team to figure out how, either the general fund lump or another cross-board cut for the entire department...then it was up to the department (over the weekend) to decide how to deal with the lump hit. Myron actually told me it would have hurt worse for the department to take another (I believe he said 16 percent) percentage hit, especially considering all the matching funds involved.
