Default I got a big problem

I'm new to this board, and in the Portland Metro area only 4 months.

Here's the deal. I was transfered here from New Mexico. Oregon's my original home so I jumped at it. Anyway, I have two dogs, one a 130lb yellow lab, and another 'bout 50 lb something. Those dogs are my youngest daughters life (she also has three cats and a big lizard) My family is still in New Mexico and will be moving up here in June. The problem is that I may have to get rid of the dogs. I'm trying to buy a house, but have to get mine sold down there first. If the house isn't sold by the time I move them up here, we will stay in coporate provided housing until it does, and they don't allow dogs. Cats and lizard are Okay. I feel really bad about my kids having to move in the summer, leaving friends behind, and it will absolutely kill my daughter to lose her friends AND her dogs. There is no way I can afford to kennel the dogs for what could be a couple months.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Is there anybody interested in housing my dogs in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area, preferably somebody without pristine gardens and a large yard. The dogs are friendly and are basically indoor pets. I'm running out of options and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Is the lab male or female?

Both dogs are male....2 yrs + old and both fixed. The little(?) one has some Charpei in him and likes to think he's a guard dog. Growls at strangers then tries to lick them to death. The lab just like to stick his nose in your crotch and wiggle. Thier both real good dogs and, I guess I have to admit I don't want to get rid of them either

Some corporate housing options allow for dogs. Others do not, but you can always get sneaky for a while. My brother had to do this...lived in a hotel room with his wife, 2 cats, a smallish dog and a 115 pound dog... No dogs allowed. They just told the management they only wanted maid service on Saturdays, and then just left the room early on those days. Its a struggle to juggle the mission impossible in and outs for potty breaks, but if you have an outside access place, you are ok.

Good luck though either way. Hopefully you wont have to give up your dogs...thats just not right. They are family too.

1) See if your company can find you housing that will allow the dogs.

2) If not, I may be able to help for a month or two.

If you cant keep the dogs at your house,, check into placing them in a private kennel for a short period of time until you purchase a house. Just a thought.......there are several around...

There's even an ifisher that is well-connected and has a kennel or access to them... He may not have seen this thread, but I can sure make sure he does.

My kids would love to have a dog. I'm not too thrilled about a full-time doggy resident (although I love them) because of how limiting they are (like having an infant, but worse). I could certainly foster a couple of dogs.

Pilar might want to foster-parent some dogs (he still wants to replace his).

I'm sure I could do it if the owners were nearby and would come and "sit" if I was out of town. Might be a cool win-win-win situation.
