I just read this article from last Friday, near SanFrancisco. Amazing!! Glad she pulled through her terrible ordeal. Please, please make sure your dog wears a collar and ID tags.

I am sorry but whoever the cop was that tried to put that dog out of it's misery is an idiot!!! Look at the entry hole, he missed the poor dog's brain by a mile!

I know! I kinda wonder why the officer took that measure without talking to animal control first. The only time I can see that as ok is if the animal was deeply suffering and help was too far away, but from the sounds of the story it wasn't.
