Ifish group travel
I just wanted to introduce an idea.
It would be possible to get group rates for a bunch of us ifishers if we decided to go somewhere together.
I think it would be an absolute hoot to all go on a cruise together, or to Alaska on a cruise, or even to Disneyland, with a bunch of ifish families!
I want to go to Disneyland SO bad, and I can just imagine how much fun we would have, all lined up at Splash Mountain!
A cruise would also be tons of fun... like to go to on a fishing cruise? WOW!
I bet we could get great rates!
We could also all start a savings thing together, and then in a year or so, go somewhere!
Anyone interested?
Jen

Re: Ifish group travel
Hey, Jen!! We've ALWAYS (last 40 years or so) wanted to go on the Inland Passage Cruise to Alaska!! We never had the time, money, or opportunity to do so. Now, we are retired, have the time, perhaps a little more money  , and this sounds like the opportunity If something like a Disneyland trip happens first...we won't be impatient  Great idea

Re: Ifish group travel
I have always wanted to go on a multiday fishing trip. I have seen several that include fly-in, lodging, and a boat! I just need to get a large enough group together to make it affordable. Sort of a remote floatilla?!?

I don't know if other states will allow us all to enter their state boundaries at the same time.

Re: Ifish group travel
Wow UG, you'll probably get your trip for free for booking so many trips!
Nah... I think what I had in mind is giggling in line at Disneyland with a bunch of ifish families.
I really want to go...can you tell?
I need my Mickey Fix.
I would however, be interested in a cruise to Alaska! That would be AWESOME!

Re: Ifish group travel
Once saw a show on The Outdoor Channel about tuna charters out of San Diego - something like 7+ day trips south along the Baja [sp?] coast. The ship was large enough for a pretty good sized group to fish from and live on. Needless to say everyone caught lots of really big tuna while on camera. Looked like a great trip - have no idea what the cost was. That'd be a real kick!
Depending on the circumstances and timing, a group fishing trip is something I'd be interested in.

Re: Ifish group travel
OK, Jen.....you go to Disneyland...have a ball! I've never been one for crowds of people, rides that scare the bananas out of ya  !! I'm more for the serene, peace and quiet....like gliding on the still crystal clear waters with the snow capped mountains reflected in them. Alaska can wait till you have your fun...but give it some thought..OK

Re: Ifish group travel
Sigh...I remember just a few years ago (ok maybe a cpl more than a few) we used to get into Disneyland for free and spend all day there for next to nothing, same as Knotts Berry Farm. Not even sure what a day would cost there now.

Re: Ifish group travel
Better start making your travel plans now. When Jim Myron of Oregon Trout gets his way, their will be no more hatcheries. So in about 4 years there will be no fishing. So go travel. Now if you all want to take a trip together, well go to Salem this Thrus. 1PM Salem and show support for keeping our fish hatcheies. Our new Gov. at the request of Jim Myron is fixing to close them. Need I say more?
