Default Cats on the Fly

I just spent a great 2 days fishing with Ed Rice in his pursuit to catch another species on the fly. Ed is the founder of the ISE shows and also holds many IGFA fly rod records. Watching him with a fly rod was a real eye opener for me. Someday... I had found a feeding pattern that had the cats concentrated so I called Ed and he was able to make it over here in 2 days. The 1st day out he landed 5 and yesterday brought 4 to the net. The channel cat was the 247th specie that he has caught on the fly in front of a witness. He used a #6 purple seal bugger.

Ed with #247

Tell that to Dr. Martin Arostegui who has 200 record fish.
Whoever moderates this board please pull this thread. I thought this would be of interest on a fly fishing board but I don't need this ********.

I'm not even sure I've caught 247 fish total on the fly Crappie Chaser! This is awesome! He looks like he's enjoying every second of it.

Slow down there - I don't see where anyone has said anything bad about you or your friends here. Methinks there has been a miscommunication or misunderstanding.

I'm glad you posted this here - cats on a fly is very intriguing to me. I love catfish, and I love to fly fish. It'd be kickazz to combine them. And I loved the pix. most of the guys who posted in the thread probably feel the same way or at the very least were intrigued. No reason to delete this thread.

Same here. When I saw the thread, I was wondering how one catches cats on the fly. Now I know. Great opportunity. Way to get after it when the timing was right!
