Default Burnt Lake... anyone?

Planning a short pack trip in to Burnt Lake (Mt. Hood Wilderness) tomorrow. Anybody familiar with the fishing there? Pretty new to fishing lakes and was hoping to get my kids into a couple trout. What would be your "go-to" setup under a bobber?

Any advice is appreciated and feel free to pm.

I haven't fished Burnt Lake since I got to old to walk up the hill. A beautiful lake, but a tough hike. A small rubber raft would increase your chances. We used to troll very slow with small spinners and worms. If you are using a bobber, I would try a small piece of worm, and sometimes they will take the dark part and sometimes they will only hit the light part. Doesn't figure.
Also take some red single fish eggs. Had some luck with them in the past. The fish like to hid in the shade, so look for the areas that the trees had a shadow on the lake.
Don't forget your Deet. That lake has the biggest horseflies I ever saw. The mosquitos will eat you there, but the horseflies will carry you away and same you for dinner later.
Please write back and let us know how you did. Use to be some nice brook trout in the lake.

Thanks to everyone who gave advice on Burnt Lake. We had a blast. Took the family and packgoats in on Friday and was floored by the amount of cars parked at the trailhead. There was a steady stream of people heading back down so we were hopeful we might still get a campsite. After bushwacking around the lake a little we found a site (I think it was the last one available) and set up camp.

The weather was great and the bugs weren't too bad. Fish were a bit finicky, got a couple to take an Adams fly off the top but most seemed to like the worms. Caught both rainbows and brookies...mostly rainbows. Fried a few up for breakfast and again for lunch along with some boiled crawdads. The kids gobbled them up and asked for more. Didn't take many pics, here are a couple.
