What CD's are in your truck or car?
Some how in the office yesterday, we started talking about the music we listen to. Then we started asking what music CD's do you have in your car right now that your listening too?
I was interesting to hear the wide variety of music folks listen to.
I got 5 in the truck right now.
Night Ranger
AC/DC (Back in Black)
Def Leppard
Kenny Chesney
Mongomery/Gentry

My truck has a short in it somewhere, so the CD player isn't currently working. However, my portable mp3 player currently has most every album U2 has ever published, on shuffle play.

Currently in the CD is "Wayne and Watson" on the wild side.
Containing both the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation official theme song, and the Dallas Safari Club offical theme song.
I cant wait till September to hear another elk bugle, gotta listen to it on CD in the off season.

Re: What CD's are in your truck or car?
You know I use to think AC/DC was head banger stuff, real hard core...then I shared a ride with some fellow racers to Las Vegas for the Best in the West desert race. I said hey, can I play a tape and then you play a tape that way I won't burn you out with my ROCK AND ROLL. The guy going down with me says sure... when his turn came up just South of Salem OR, he proceeded to bring out every Metallica tape made and some bands that were even more hard core  . That was the longest trip ever 20 hours each way.
I am just now getting use to metallica, I think that trip ruined me :depressed:

Re: What CD's are in your truck or car?
Most is stuff I can guarantee most of you have never heard of.
1.Tourniquet - Psycho Surgery
2.Orange County Supertones - Strike Back
3.Kutless - Kutless
4.Wyrick - Mental Floss
5.Pillar - Fireproof
6.POD - Snuff The Punk
7.POD - Satellite
8.Saviour Machine - Legend
9.Stavesacre - Absolutes
10.Zaxas - Zaxas
11.Five Iron Frenzy - Quantity is Job#1
All of the above listed CD's are artists on Christian record labels. I have a wide range of musical taste ranging from blues to extreme thrash metal. I have found that I can fully satisfy my musical tastes with an extremely wide variety of artists without having to subject myself and my family to the trashy and obscene lyrics and subject matter of the majority of todays mainstream artists.
You know what they say: Garbage in, Garbage out.
If it's not country, It must be music.

Dan S,
Gotta like The Cult. I love to recline in the dark and crank the title song to "Love" - especially like the guitar towards the end of the song.
I saw them open for Billy Idol back in about 1986? They actually didn't sound too good. I think Ian was drunk and the crowd really wasn't into them....

Re: What CD's are in your truck or car?
Geek, I am sure you do have a short somewhere (ba-dump-ba) , U2 well go figure
I am amazed at all the cross overs from rock to country it must be that 2/4 beat and the similar cord progession ,,,I too have a full set of the Young Brother's music, not to say Bon and Brian weren't key contributors but it would not be AC/DC without Angus (head bang).
AC/DC -all
Def - all
Van Halen
Van Morrison
George Strait -all
Allen Jackson -all
Clint Black -all
Chris Ledeux -all
and the list for both rock and country go on,,and on.

Re: What CD's are in your truck or car?
Let me go down my list of 1300 mp3's and list my favorite artists.
Listening to Creed right now as I type
AC/DC
Alan Jackson
Alice in Chains
Charlie Daniels (This world does need a few more rednecks by the way)
Eminem
George Strait
Hank Williams Jr
and if you haven't heard Hank Williams III, check him out, plays everything from the twangy stuff of his gramps to hardcore headbanging stuff and does it all well. Lots of talent there.
Kenny Wayne Shephard
Kentucky Headhunters
Kid Rock
Metallica
Montgomery Gentry
Kenny Chesney
Terri Clark
Ted Nugent
Soundgarden
But my favorite is Chris Ledoux. I've seen him a few times in concert now and will never miss another show after his liver problem. I didn't go to the show just before that and when it happened I thought I'd never see him in concert again.
If you haven't read the book about him you should. Got mine at the library. "Gold Buckle Dreams" This man has led an incredible life.
By the way, yes I have heard of POD. Turn on the radio now and then, they play them all the time!!!

I was glad to see how many were listening to country and rock. Thought I was the only weird one out there.

Re: What CD's are in your truck or car?
Like Geek hinted, be careful at the break ins. I have been broken into and had up to 100 CD taken, I use CD carry packs and remove the plastic cases. At 10-15$ a pop it adds up quick! Car insurance won't cover them, and you need a good home owners/renters policy. Even then much of them will not be covered :depressed: if stolen. And this is just the type of material people are looking for, easy to get money for at pawn shops and flea markets.

Re: What CD's are in your truck or car?
Gus good point. I burn all my cds and keep the originals safe. @ .20 a peice I feel pretty safe.
Tanner thanks for the tip. I also enjoy great music but not so much the filth for the kids. 102.7 has been a greatway for me to introduce my kids to music without the filth. But I can't deny I sure like the rauwnchy stuff. Maralin Manson, NIN, tool,ect.. I am a musician and tend not to listen to lyrics so much. Kids, I think, are infuenced alot by lyrics. Point being my 9 yr old friend knows all the words to every emminem song :depressed:

Re: What CD's are in your truck or car?
Geek, I've been curious to see how that works out as well with the doors. I've been huge cult fan, going all the way back to when they were the southern death cult-- around the same time Henry Rollins was fronting Black Flag-- should be interesting to see the end results-

Re: What CD's are in your truck or car?
Twenty cents each? You're overpaying. I picked up 200 CDs on spindles for $20 last year. Still burning them. Any CDs that go into the truck are copies. Saves on wear and tear on the originals, and if they're stolen...go burn more.
