I enjoy the banter here regarding political views. Obviously, I have had disagreements with some folks on here. However, if everyone was on the left or the right, the whole damned place would tip over. I may not agree with some of the stuff that goes on here, but as long as it stays relatively respectful and follows forum rules, I think its good. I have actually learned quite a bit in the last few weeks that I have been spending more time in here. I've even moderated or flat out changed some of my own views based on information and perspectives provided by people I originally disagreed with.

However, I have determined that I get more out of reading those posts than I do responding to them. In many of my responses I am just contributing to the problem. To that end, I am going to make an effort to refrain from posting to any politically related threads. Just a personal decision to try to contribute to the "cleaning up" of LIG.

I just so hoped I would have a day off today to do what I wanted, and I'm frustrated that I have to deal with problems.

Jennie, you don't have to change it back just because I don't like it. It's your site. It is humorous, in a way. Maybe I just need to look at it as that is now how the forum is viewed because of some of the content. I went back to that other thread and read some of it, and it let's me in a little on why you changed it. And I'm sorry you have too many problems to deal with today. That's not right either. Guess I've been feeling that I should bail from here for a while now anyway.

Thanks for keeping this site going and making all the improvements over the last couple years. We appreciate it, even if we make things rough and unpleasant sometimes......or we wouldn't be here.

You know you need to get off when the moderators have a canned response for all the threads you post on. Crabbait has this programmed on a quick key now I think:

I gave up on it a week ago. It's kinda like playing a basketball game between the Blazers and Sonics and letting the Blazers officiate the game too. More fun to sit back and laugh at it now.

So this is my last post in LIG for a while. I'll play in the main forum where it's still safe.

Skrimmy - Very funny!! Too bad it is untrue. I can understand the sentiment, however. If people are not allowed to use low blows then they won't play and will blame mods.

I am not bailing from LIG, just politics. I happen to agree with at least part of Crabbaits post there. I think he put it in all the appropriate threads as well...

Maybe I'm missing something here :whazzup: What do you guys want this forum to be? Do you want to be allowed to call someone who doesn't agree with you politically an idiot? a moron? naive? There are plenty of radio shows you can call into to do that so why bring it here? I've refrained from badmouthing the president these last few months out of respect to the office and the current events and even tried to have a harmless opinion poll about the presidency a while back. I asked nicely that it not be turned into a flame fest. Of course it turned into a Clinton bashing post so I asked TFG to lock it.
We can have fun here and exchange differing ideas without insults but it appears to me that that's what some people want this forum to be and I'm talking about both left and right.
I know for a fact that Jennie did not create this forum for the sort of rancor that's been posted here in mind.
