Anyone have a current estimate on how many Iraquis we have killed as we have LIBERATED them...hmmmmm, wonder how many will die or develop cancers/birth defects from the TONS of depleted uranium we have dropped on them, and guess what/....Syria is next....How would we feel if this were being done to us? Whoops...Un-American to protest pushing our agenda on the rest of the world, and we wonder why they hate us...duh.

That is one big lesson learned in Vietnam........ we will never know the extent of the 'collateral damage'.

If you take into account the approximatly 600,000 people that Saddam has been responsible for the death of over the last 25 years since he has been in power, you come out with a average of 24,000 people per year. Multiply that by the remainder of his life expectancy (20 years) and you come up with the round number of just a little less than half a million people we just saved.

Look guys, we are not going to solve this here and this discussion and others like it will only lead to hard feelings, quick tempers, deleted posts, and more hard feelings.

I think it is time we left the politics off LIG for awhile. Those who think the Bush administration can do no wrong are going to think that until something bad happens. Those who think Bush et al can do no right will think that until nothing bad happens.

Lets agree to disagree and move on...while this board is still open.

I am not going to close this thread...yet...but I propose we move on.

Isn't that the purpose of a life in general area on ifish. Just my .02 worth. gives us a chance to express our views and blow off a little steam. We all know what the rules are so as long as we stay within them all is fair. Politics is a main part of ifish, we see it on all the boards fishing, hunting, salt water and even fly and warmwater boards why should life in general be any different. so I guess I'm saying back off mod until the rules are being broken.

Can you say broken record? You could take any reply for any of the other threads that started out like this and plunk it down here. I think it is clear who stands where. Why continue to rehash the same standings over and over?

Yeah ... no one is going to change their mind. It's fun to keep the pot stirred up. Sometimes.

Don't forget to vote. Be careful who you vote for.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Crabbait is right. Yes this forum is here for this, but an attempt to head off all of the imflammatory stuff that a topic starter like that is sure to generate is perfectly inline with the mods job. If he seriously had a problem with the discussion, the thread would be closed....

I agree with crabbait...it needs to rest. How some of you can continue to just argue the same points amaze me.

I said it before and got chastised by mods and regulars, but will say it again.

The political horse needs to die. Its a way of life so speak at the polls...vote how you feel and live without whining if the vote goes opposite your feelings and passion.

Gotta say I agree with Capin' Dan. I have an idea for those of you tired of these rehashed topics, don't read them, and better yet, don't reply to them. If you don't want politics discussed better make it against the rules. If it's not, deal with it. As long as everyone remains curteous to their fellow ifisher's, what's wrong with an exchange of opinions?

I'm with Crabbait. We're not changing anyone's minds, and the debate at this point is a little shy of new facts. I'm going to refrain from posting on political topics for a while.

Jim...so we should not be protesting mass murder on the part of our Gov., Sir...or do we just shout"Remember 9/11...though no proof linking Iraq to 9/11 has ever been shown? Have a nice day, Jim...not flaming you, I simply do not agree with the double standards of our Gov.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">What about when we "mass murdered" Germans....should we protest that one too? What about when we "mass murdered" the Milosovich's people? Should we protest that one?

Feisty, so we should protest the Hitlers and the like of the world, and protest those who try to do something about them?

Kind of a double standard isnt it??? Or do we just say every man for himself in this world?
