Default Today's message

I've been tobacco-free for over 72 hours and am feeling MUCH better now. (Hopefully the mega-beast is gone now  )

Thought this was appropriate for today:

My Special List

I have a list of folks I know...
all written in a book,
And every now and then..
I go and take a look.

That is when I realize
these names...they are part,
not of the book they're written in...
but taken from the heart.

For each Name stands for someone...
who has crossed my path sometime,
and in that meeting they have become...
the reason and the rhyme.

Although it sounds fantastic...
for me to make this claim,
I really am composed...
of each remembered name.

Although you're not aware...
of any special link,
just knowing you has shaped my life...
more than you could think.

So please don't think my greeting...
as just a mere routine,
your name was not...
forgotten in between.

For when I send a greeting...
that is addressed to you,
it is because you're on the list...
of folks I'm indebted to.

So whether I have known you...
for many days or few,
in some ways you have a part...
in shaping things I do.

I am but a total..
of many folks I've met,
you are a friend I would prefer...
never to forget.

Thank you for being my friend.

Glad it's going well (better?) Jen. Nice poem! I've got my own plan for quitting here!

Mel - MUCH better. Almost human now. Thanks.

I wish you luck in quitting... although effective, I'm not sure the method you suggest would be best.

I DO, however, recommend that you isolate yourself for the first 3 days of smoking cessation. A locked, padded room perhaps? It was suggested that I should have done that.

You might talk to your Dr. about Wellbutrin. I started taking it and it made cigs taste like crap. It realy takes the edge off. I still smoke a little, but I haven't tried to quit. I think I smoked 2 yesterday.

I have used Zyban, and didn't find that it made them taste bad, I just didn't want them as much. But I (used to) smoke hand rolleds from good tobacco, so they taste pretty good, for a cigarette.

Three days in, and I think I'm over the hump. Go Jen! Mark, dump the butts, man. No time like the present.

Yeah, I'm doin' Zyban, too. It didn't make cigs taste bad, but then again, I heard it takes up to 3 weeks to have that effect. I have noticed, though, that it seems to be reducing my appetite so I'm not doing the constant eating thing.

Good job SH! Way to go!
