Default Recommendations for camping @ Diamond Lake over the 4th

I am going camping at Diamond Lake over July 3-5. Any suggestions as to where to get a first come first serve campsite? Will they have the overflow camping area off Broken Arrow campground like they have in the past? Just looking for enough room to park 2 pickups and 1 camp trailer and 1 boat. Any sugeestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can't say about next weekend, but we got back last night and there were a lot of spaces available in Diamond Lake CG in the K and L sections. Fishing has slowed down and the skeeters have picked up ...

They do for some of the sites. Here's some contact info:

United States Forest Service Campgrounds

There are over 450 camping sites at the three Umpqua National Forestcampgrounds in the Diamond Lake Recreation Area. Diamond Lake, Broken Arrow, and Thielsen View campgrounds are very well maintained with paved roads and trailer pads. Only 174 of these sites are reserved through the National Recreation Reservation service at 877-444-6777 or www.recreation.gov
THE REST OF THE 226 CAMPSITES ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED

F.Y.I. ...
If the operator at the reservation number tells you there are no camping sites available, they are only talking about the reservable sites, not the first come, first served sites.
