Dave,

I really appreciate your response on posting pic's on the picture posting thread and your reply to my question.

You suggested saving the pic's to root of "C" drive.

I started a new folder on the "C" drive called ifish and have been saving my ifish upload pic's there. It works great and has another advantage. Now I can look in this new folder and see if I have posted that particular pic before on ifish. I have thousands of pic's in just the two years that I have learned and operated a PC and digital camera. It is difficult to remember if I have uploaded a certain pic before on ifish and this will simplify that. Now my path looks like this:
C:\ifish\necking.jpg (razor clams Cool Tex)
Pretty short path

I would reccomend this procedure to everyone. Any questions regarding this procedure, just ask the Geek or me.

Thanks again,

Dan

PS> I will copy/paste part of this post and add it to Pete's " Picture Posting Instructions" thread.

Geek, the only reason I edited this post and several others was to add the automated email responce. I wish Jennie would change that to where you automaticaly recieved emails and if you choose not to, then check the box not to recieve reply's to your topic.

I forget to check the box half the time and I prefer to see if anyone has responded otherwise if you really get involved in posting, sometimes you forget to check certain post especially if it is an old post someone responded too.

Oh, I see a new poll brewing.

OK....you guys have convinced me that this "saving to the root of 'C'" is the way to go. This business of changing the names of pics and files in order to post them is too difficult for this old lady..... First of all, I'm going to try to send some of my pictures to a file in the C:\ and see what happens. If it works, then I've got it made! You'd think having had a computer for 7 years or so, I'd be pretty good and understand how it works. Not so!

Thanks for the kudos. That option of automagically choosing to receive notification would be good, but it's not something that Jennie can turn on or off, or code into the software, without knowing extensively how to program in the UBB native tongue. If I think about it, I'll see if there is a UBB plugin that does that.

Ewww, Geek, please don't!! If you look at Dans poll this morning
you will note he is in a minority of ONE!! I don't think I want
to see all that extra e-mail coming into my mailbox if I forget
to turn a switch OFF!

Dan, nobody thinks less of you for editing your posts, honest!!

IF the software had this (and it doesn't, and it won't in the near future) it would be a setting in your profile that you could set, with a default on OFF. At least, that is how it is with the software that I use.

So, it wouldn't be something that you would HAVE to do.

Thanks fish assassin,

Guess I was in the minority there. Today I got 28 emails of which a high percentage were ifish notifications and I was glad of that. I posted some pic's of 3 poached bulls and a 3 point buck on the hunting forum last night (my first visit there). So I was notified of several replies to that, a couple on LIG, and on the main thread there are replies to seafood thread, razor clam thread, and the April 12th jetty weather thread.
It's hard to keep track of the different threads on different forums and some times you get someone replying to a thread that is a week or several weeks old. I've had it happen and missed a timely responce to questions. That's why I like the notification so I see it there when I check my email.

I find it easy to space out checking the box but maybe as time goes on I will get better at remembering. If not I can do as I have been and go in and edit later.

Thanks.
