Default Meldrum bar Springer 2/26/04 (Pics)

Well, I thought I would stop by Meldrum last night to see what was going on. As soon as I got there I was walking towards a cluster and BAM... bankie pound down.

Although the Springer season hasn't really kicked off yet you still can be rewarded if you put in the time.
Tony was out there in his trusty bubble camper for 7 hours before he heard that familiar sound of the dinner bell. This is Tony's first springer for 2004. No others were touched all day.

Here she is resting before her last run.

And if your wondering about the rigging of choice, just add prawn tail to this.

Tony Sullivan is a great guy - knows all there is to know about plunking and if ya get to know him a little bit he will tell ya how its done.

He fishes 300+ days a year, and fixes / installs garage doors in his spare time. So if you need some advice on plunking or a garage door fixed, go to Meldrum, Bonneville, Warrendale, Lewis River RV park, Prescott, or someplace similar and look for the truck that Says "T.A. Sullivan - Garage Doors and Openers" and look him up.

Good Job Tony!

Mark,

It depends on the current at the time. Anywhere from 8 ounces to railroad spikes. The key off the bank in that area is to use enough weight to stick quickly and not roll down into other peoples lines, since it's usually (and will be now for sure ) shoulder to shoulder with very little distance between rods.

Not using enough weight is usually the reason conflict starts by someone tangling everyone up all the time and keeping them out of the water.

Good bank area, with a very good shot at success. You can even pull your rig up close to the water line, "pound down" your rod holder, put the bell on and wait for "fish on" and get out of the weather in a comfortable, warm seat when you need to.

BNB, that same rig can be tied up with two large pills on each side of a #8 corkie with the thin fin spinner. I'm going to try it out soon and hopefully will have something to post about.
