It ain\'t over folks
Keep in mind that this war is not over and that our troops are still in harms way. Pulling over statues is symbolic at this point.
A new government has to be formed and law and ordered restored by the Iraqi people. There will be a long road to recovery and the troops still need our support.
Still a very dangerous situation and I know we can all agree on that.

CATCH AND EAT, you're only half correct. The war IS over. The Iraqi Ambassadeur said so about two hours ago. But, our guys are still in harms way, so keep your fingers crossed that the fighting stops quickly.

It may not be over yet but it is a step in the right direction. Still battles to be fought and Cities to liberate but we are making progress hourly towards our goals.

It may not be over, but I still want to keep the flag on the front page for today.

Jennie, you fly Old Glory for as long as you want girl. I appreciate the fact you are willing to do that for our troops.

I think that flag would look good up there every day.

That is one good looking flag, Jennie. Kinda chokes me up. Leave it as long as you like.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">The Iraqi ambassador to the UN also said that he hadn't had any communication with his government "in a long time". Besides, if you're stuck in New York watching your country being dismembered on TV, what else are you going to say? He's not "Baghdad Bob".
The fanatics are going to make their last stand in Tikrit. According to the Iraqis, the Tikritis are a breed apart. They made up Saddam's power base, so unless they come to their senses (not likely) there'll be more bloodshed. :depressed:

Re: It ain\'t over folks
True C&E. But it is a heck of a start! There will be loss of life yet. But it is unraveling fast. Look at the Iraqi's celebrating there in Bagdad and here in the states. Haven't seen any coverage of what's happening in Britain yet. Al Jazeera is showing the Iraqi's celebrating in Bagdad. How 'bout that?

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">I don't know much about the new government yet, but suspect it will include peace loving Iraqi's that were living in America and Britain.
They can finally go home.
