Re: Baghdad fishing
Pete....very good!
I hope he's enjoying a celebrebatory beer at the same time. It's all over but the shouting. And that shouting is the Iraqi people shouting THANK YOU AMERICA! Now the real truth will come out.

Re: Baghdad fishing
Hey Skrimmy, no beer in Iraq. Wait a couple of weeks, and you can buy your favorite Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran a cold one.

I don't like the fact that he posted a pic of my zipperlip with an obvious landmark.
Also, how do you ask a guy with an automatic weapon to see his punch card?

Re: Baghdad fishing
Don't know what he might catch, but it must be huge. Look at what he's using as a fish knocker, off to his left, and, even worse, that open MRE bait bag next to him. It must be one nasty fish.

Oh Great,
Now there will be a thousand sleds there tomorrow morning.
Leave it to one of our troops to make a huge statement without saying a thing.

Re: Baghdad fishing
Geek,
No self-respecting fish is going to eat anything you might find in an MRE bag. Well... maybe the napkin.

Re: Baghdad fishing
Crabbait....point well taken, nice one!
But, kidding aside, he certainly earned that one and put in his time, no doubt about it!
Well, now that the "worst" is behind us over there, even though we're not quite out of the woods, I hope that we can all meet a bit more towards the middle here too and let's just get out there and go fishing.

Re: Baghdad fishing
I'm taking my fly rod with me when I go. And my camera. If I catch anything cool, I'll post it eventually.
I hope you don't give me too much crap about posting on gubmint time. When you are on duty 24/7, that's all the time you have.

Re: Baghdad fishing
The story in the Oregonian says that is one of Sadamm's Palaces and he found the rod there. He supposedly is fishing with some noodles he found but had not had a bite by the time the shot was taken...

Re: Baghdad fishing
I bet the trout in NE Iraq's mountain streams, if any, are very unsophisticated...probably have rarely if ever been sport fished...it'd be way cool if you could find out & report back. Going over soon?

Re: Baghdad fishing
I wonder how deep you have to go to get night crawlers for fishing? Lots of metal around for making spinners but hooks might be hard to come up with.
