Default Burns. Where to go?

I'm going to Burns for the 4th of July. Wanted to know if anybody could tell me where to go and maybe what to use. Haven't fly fished for many years and just broke the rods out again last weekend. I was actually affraid I couldn't cast anymore but, it's just like riding a bike. I'm a lil rusty but I still got it.

Cool Re: Burns. Where to go?

West of Burns is Chickahominy. South is Krumbo Reservoir and the Donner & Blitzen River (plus a few other streams that drain the Steens Mtns such as Indian Creek).

Was going to stay on the family's ranch but they said no campfires. So now I need to find a campsite. Don't need much for accomodations just a place to pitch a tent and hopefully a place that has bathrooms and drinking water. And needs to be walkup only I refuse to camp at places that allow reservations. So if anybody has any ideas I would appreciate it thx.

Idlewild campground north of Burns is a nice campground. There is no fishing right there, but it's not too far from the upper Malhuer or Yellowjacket. Delintment lake is nice too and a bit further off the beaten path. I heard that Chickahominy is having low water problems this year.

I've never been there, but a friend has fished the Donner und Blitzen, and he says there are more rattlesnakes than rocks

Bit of a drive but we did really well at Fish Lake last week and a certain creek south of Fields named for the mountains it flows out of.

I thought the only thing south of Fields was Denio, Nevada!
