Default Advise needed about Kalama

I am going to float the Kalama this week end. I have floated the river about 4 years ago in my cousins boat. He was rowing. This time I am rowing. Is there any serious places I need to worry about. Is the water in shape enough to fish. I was thinking of puting in at the red barn and taking out at the bridge. I am not sure what the bridge is called but the take out is almost under the bridge on the other side of the river.

I think Modrow Bridge is the take-out that you're talking about. I always fish the Kalama from the bank, so I'm not sure about any tricky spots in the river. From what i've gathered from people i've talked to, it's not too hard of a river to navigate. Maybe a couple spots, but all in all, a pretty easy float! Kalama experts...am I wrong here?

It is an easy drift if you can read water. there is a spot below Prichards(sp) that wants to push in tho the rock wall when the water is up and running hard. Its not that bad.....Ross

The take out is Modrow bridge. Like Fish Hog mentioned there is a spot just above Fallert Creek bridge that will try and push you into the rock wall on the left side. There is also a big rock in the first rapid just below Pritchards but it is easy to avoid. The spot behind Mahaffeys will try and push you into the wall at times also but it is pretty easy also. Good luck.
