Default Lost rod on the McKenzie

I am absolutely sick to my stomach... I lost a rod the my dad built for me today. Here is the story...

We were on the Deerhorn to Hendricks Bridge drift. Great day, numerous trout and a few redsides caught and released. We always take the south channel around Goat Island and did so today, about 1-2 miles above Hendricks there is a dual channel around another island I do not know the name of. We always take the south channel but dad had hit a few rocks on the last drift so at the last moment we decided to try the north channel around what looked to be a couple hundred yard channel to the right (north). Long story short, my dear 82 year old dad put us into the brush big time. Nearly dumped the boat as we slammed into the brush overhang on the north bank trying to get down this new to us channel. Bottom line is we nearly flipped the darned boat going under the brush and I grabbed 2 of the 3 rods that the tips of got grabbed by the brush... as we emerged from this conflageration, I realized my rod was gone... I reckon at some point it got hung in the brush we slammed and got pulled out.
This rod means the world to me. My dad built it for me a large number of years ago. It is the finest little trout rod I have ever had, not to mention, again, dad built it for me.

So... this spot is about 1-2 miles above Hendricks. The obvious channel is to the left, south, side of this island. If you go right, north channel, it is a tough slot then good water for a LONG ways.. you come back into the main stem about 1/2 mile above Hendricks. Again, I have no idea what the name of this island is.

Anyway... I suspect my rod is either on the bottom and lost forever OR... it's hung in the brush right at the ferry right point to go into the north channel of this unnamed/unknown/badass island. The rod has a $250 reel on it. I would like to get the whole setup back but to be perfectly honest, I would pay real money to just get the rod back. As I said, dad is 82. I don't think he will be building me any more rods like this one.

If you happen to be drifting the McKenzie, or if you have some idea of where this happened I sure would be forever in your debt if you found my rod and called me.

I am truly sick to me stomach about losing this rod. And I cannot tell you how dad feels. In spite of me telling him time and time again it's no big deal, We'll build another rod... he knows. I have been bragging on this rods mojo for many years.

I can identify the rod and reel, it has my dads initial, my name and the build date on it. If you happen to be able to retrieve it... well...

ok... I'm getting choked up. I know it's an incredible long shot. But I have to hope.

Thats McNutts Island you are referring to you. I'll be down there in a day or two and will take a look.
