Default Bassin on my bike

Finished my honeydo list yesterday about noon so thought I would try a different angle. Bungie corded my favorite fishing pole onto my Suzuki GSX600F and grabbed some tackle and worms and blasted up to Cascade Locks. Fished for about 2 hrs. with wind and rain adding to the fun. Caught 6 average sized smallies and had two long distance releases.Used a lot less fuel and plan on trying some of my other favorite holes this year.Hard to understand why so many gill nets, could see three just from the one fishing hole I was at. Oh well at least I had some fun catching some smallies.

I'm not worthy of fishing with you - I think you should change your screen name to the "Fishin Lance" as in Lance Armstrong. Well done sir!

No Lance, as I stated Suzuki GSX600F is a motorcycle, I'm way to fat and old to pedal that far!!!! Now I feel guilty for missleading you.Sorry Should have titled it "Bassin on my Motorcycle"

Wow 4th grade, don't think we go that high here in Portland, no ones fault but I should be riding a bicycle to get in shape for hunting season. No need to be worthy to fish with me just be ready to catch more fish than I do. ifish, therefor I smell

GSX600R huh?....pics...we want PICS!
Hum, me's getting an idea......infaltable Kayak. Or maybe some wheels on a pontoon frame for a pull behind.????
The pedal bike just doesn't sound like as much fun.

Guess I should talk to one of my daughters and have them teach me how to post pics.Looked at some of your trophy pics Hunt'nFish and now I don't feel to worthy as most of my photos don't include big trophies like yours, except the family of course. Now add 6' G-Loomis and tail bag full of tackle and I'm off. Maybe next bike will be a dual-sport for those dirt roads?

We forgive you....just make the next pic of you next to your bike holding a nice smallie.

You know, once upon a time it was a toss up between a GSXR1100 and FZR1000...I couldn't afford either.
So I settled on an XJ750. Did many a steelhead/bass/trout trip w/ a rod sticking out of a backpack.
Can you envision Fulton Canyon, the Big D and steetbike? My headers were never the same.
I did learn chest waders make good rain pants. he, he
Even strapped a leather saddle gun scabbard on it. To go back home for elk season.
Oh the memories.

I should buy a bike again. Maybe an enduro 600 or something like that.
You zip over east and back for a morning turkey hunt or soemthing.

The thought of that very road makes me think my co-worker has it right with a 800 GS BMW, he rolls on the highway miles with some decent tires and still can do the gravel when he gets there. His last bike was a 650 klr Kawasaki that would also be a good candidate. Elk hunting sounds a bit beyond my dreams on a bike because that would be the year I actually bagged one. You don't want to see any pics of me but I am working on getting up to speed with a digital camera and kids to help me post some smallie or other pics.

I thought you were talking about a pedal bike too. I was thinking "holy cow, how is he pedaling that far and back in one day and still fishing?" I was just getting ready to call foul until I read further down. Now that I re-read your post it's easy to see now. I feel dumb.

Red face Re: Bassin on my bike

Blu will appreciate this. Before I started driving I would ride my 10 speed from Penn Hills to Deer Lakes park about 14 miles away. I also fished a trout stream above that. I would break down my pole and tape it sticking out the back fork under the seat to the main frame and strap my creel to the handle bars. Any fish I caught were put on a stringer, wrapped in a bandana and tied to the handle bars as well. I would then make several stops along the way by streams, creeks, springs and dip the fish in there. Riding along kept them cool. Of course, back then I also had a backpack with my 8 track playing Led Zeppelin. Am I showing my age yet?
