Unhappy TenMile help

I am heading to Ten Mile Thursday and Friday with my brother and his son who are from Idaho. Both are new to bass fishing and I would like to hook them up with lots of bass.

What would you recommend? Spinners, drop shot, etc. Should we work docks, flats, tree line or all of the above.

I have fished the lakes twice before and been skunked both times.(early March)

I would really appreciate any info you can provide. We will be camping on the North lake.

Having grown up there I recommend spinner baits and plastics, i use to use grubs and tubes. Night crawlers work well too but that is bait. Any area with structure should hold fish but I have not fished it for years. I like North lake better but that is my memory from years past.

Good luck.

If it were me I would throw reaction baits til the sun gets high and then I would beat the willows to death. If you can find some with decent depth under them throw jigs in the darkest, nastiest holes way in the back of the wilows and you should get bit. Brown jigs can do wonders down there at times. Good luck.....

I will give both your suggestions a try. I really appreciate your help.

With any luck I will be able to use the Fuji WP camera my wife got me for Fathers day and get some underwater pics to post.

Well it rained most of the time. However we did catch one small mouth on a drop shot and one Large mouth flippin. Didn't get to fish as much as I would have liked cause of the weather. But I have gotten the skunk off me for that lake.

tenmile is my fav lake in oregon. watermelon black gary yokomato senkos is your ticket rig em weedless no weight or a green and black rapala workes good there or around the lilly pads with spinner baits or poppers. go through the channel connecting the lakes. as you drive let them fish right on the edge under the trees i usually get 5-10 bass outa there with yokomato worms white also works good. i got 2 over 5 pounds outa there ive also caught 2 highbread bass they look like a stripper from under the county park dock 9pounds and 11 pounds staay at north lake resort if your camping you cant find a nicer group of people then the owners of that place. but i would fish the tressel in south lake and by the easter seal camp and the channel between the two lakes hope this helps let me know how you do i usually am there the week of the 4th but not this year very sad

Yes, I caught one that was 13 1/2#'s on a rattle trap ripping it accross the weedbeds up in Shutters arm about the same time ago, [6 years]! I of course had my drag tight and when it hit I all but lost my grip on the rod! Had it not been a trigger grip rod I would have lost it. I knew imeadiatly what it was and quickly reached down and loostened the drag! A lot like hooking onto the bumper of a car going by! Almost spooled me before it got tired!

When they were in there in higher numbers, I tried and tried to catch them on purpose, but never did!

Tasty fish for sure!!!!
