China and Taiwan??

So, we have the right to go against world opinion and go into Iraq, because they are a threat to the safety of our country and the American way of life. Fine, if that is the stand of this administration, nothing that anyone can do about it.

Ummmmmm, does this mean we stand back and let China swarm Taiwan, if the Chinese feel that Taiwan is a threat to the safety of their country?? The Chinese leadership may feel it's possible the US has given Taiwan some small tactical nukes or maybe some sort of nerve gas (hey, we gave gas to Sadaam when he was one of our allies). This is the same idea, isn't it?? We haven't heard much about this problem lately, do you suppose that the Chinese leaders have thought about it?

I guess it's ok for Russia to beat up it's former satellite countries, because they're a threat to the safety of Russia? We know for a fact that some of these countries still have nukes in silos from the former USSR, and some have left over chemical plants from that Cold War superpower. Do you suppose someone has thought about that?

I don't bring this up because I think this war is right or wrong...I bring it up because we have opened a door for other large countries to take out smaller ones for the sake of the larger country's safety.

We won't let the PRC take Taiwan, but we did let them take Tibet.
The Russians thrash whatever former republic of the Soviet Union they want to, when they want to.
They didn't seek UN approval when they went after the Chechens. And the Russians are on the UN Security Council! I'm sure that was a factor in the UN's feeble protest over our current action in Iraq.
