Default Why no tackle shop in westside?

It seems to me there is a huge market in the beaverton/tigard area that would love a small, specialty tackle shop. Why hasnt anyone tried? Or have they tried and failed?
Anyone else out there think like me?

There was a Larry's in Cedar Hills...or was it Cedar Mill? It went bye-bye with the other locations.
If you think like me(native Oregonian), then people on the west side are all transplants from California or the East Coast and don't fish. If they want fish, they go to Jake's or McCormick & Schmick's. If you invited somebody on the west side to go fishing, he/she would show up at the dock wearing Eddie Bauer raingear and (gasp) Topsiders.
OK, I'd better stop now, before a lynch mob forms.

Larrys was too spread out, a little bit of everything, but not focused on any one thing, like tackle. Im saying I think it would be a good market for a small shop, like great american tackle in clackamas.
Or, maybe if the westside is made up of all transplants, a LL Bean store would be the way to go.

Froggy,

Man you hit it right on the head. We could use a westside tackle shop. Larry's closing was a real loss, even if it didn't have everything.

I looked into this very idea recently. Bottom line is it requires more than a small shop to make a living on the west side. I am sure it can be done. There are many angles ( please forgive) to work. But it would take a very large inventory to make it. At least, that is what I came up with. A bit more unstable market than the Clack, Columbia, Willy fisheries we all know and love.

Mark and the killing bugs cause there aint enough profit in kwikfish dog.
