Default So what are the smallies doing now?

So its post spawn correct?......what does this mean?.....From reading it seems like alot of fisherman have a tougher time catching fish this time of year.

Do the female SMB's head for deeper water out in the main river to recover, and get lock jaw?

I went out last night on the Columbia, and could only get 12-14 inch males to bite.

The only thing they would bite on was Buzzbaits.....can't complain about a decent topwater bite....But the fish werent really comitting.....they just swatted at the bait half hearted.....so I had about 20 strikes in the evening, but only 5 hookups.

Someone shed some light on this time of year, and what it takes to get some bigger fish! I noticed not many succesful SMB reports lately.

I second this notion -- I'm unfamiliar with what's going on lately, and I too have only had real success with top water baits as of recently.

Post spawn blahs. The big fish get harder to catch now and they go deeper with a bad attitude. Give them a bit to get into their summer patterns and you will have a better chance at getting them.
