Kudos to the department for not only coping with a computer system out of their control, but also for getting the results up in pretty close to what would have been the normal time. After all that hair-pulling and chest-beating, it just seemed right to start a post I can link on my blog to tell those men and women THANK YEW! (Pull-ease, this is for our grateful remarks. If you still want to criticize, please start another thread or post to one that's already dripping with that stuff...thanks very much) ![]() ![]()

Couldn't agree more. They went out of their way to make sure this was up as fast as it possibly could be

Good for you Bill.....I totally agree and have gotten tired of all the negative stuff on here lately about ODFW.
![]() Now I can't wait to see the draw results data, to start planning for next year!

Thanks to all you ODFW folks ....... especially the ones behind the scenes. Thanks to the employees who go to work every day, and do a sometimes thankless job. You do your very best to help ....... and we appreciate it.

I agree even if they didn't give the tags I deserved
they did a great job of getting this out as fast as they did. Tip my hat to them

For all the times we bash them on this forum, we should give them credit for doing a GREAT JOB on this one. All the system backups and still the fastest i've seen drawing results !! Kudos to ODFW. (even if i did goose egg in the tag department).

'Amazing! Thursday, we didn't know what to expect and the next day we have the results. It sure helped me out in getting our vacation plans set. Thanks, ODFW. Don

I am sure that is not the half of it. How many extra hours were put in to get these results out so quickly after the system (that is not theirs) put them in such a bind. I sincerely appreciate the time devoted to this endeavor that kept them away from family and friends. I applaud your efforts ![]() Clam

I have no problem extending the deadline as long as we get the results this fast every year.

I was one of those guys standing in line the week before they extended the deadline, in 45 minutes of waiting it was my turn (I only had one guy in front of me) The clerk entered all my information in, and the system crashes. I ended up going home and doing it online. It was simple and painless.
But all this made me think of work, we just got on a new computer system. I don’t know if anybody here works with SAP but it’s been our worst nightmare. So I have a small taste of what there going through. I hate the way we have to work around this new technology. |

My hat's off to them too.
I had FAXed my application from out of state and it didn't take for some reason. Thankful the extension was in play. I had over 12 buck and bull points in the bank. I don't want to loose one years interest.

Gonna make a second post on this thread .........
It is so easy to criticize, complain, and condemn ...... When in reality .... we really don't know what these people go through each and every day. I'd bet that the average ODFW worker is just that ..... an average, everyday person. They have a job, and a family, and bills to pay, and medical problems, and money problems, and a car that won't start, and a leaky roof, and a know-it-all teenager ..... and on, and on, and on .... The only difference between us and them is ..... well .... there is no difference. They go about their daily lives, doing the best they can, within the limitiations and rules they work under. The rank-and-file worker doesn't make the rules, set the seasons, or determine who gets a tag. We need to remember -------- The rank-and-file worker is just doing his/her best to help us, and at the same time stay within the guidlines set by the politicians. The same can be said of the person at the computer terminal of some retail store. The worker is just earning a living trying to sell you the tag application you are after. We need to remember --------- It isn't their fault that the system is slow and unfriendly. We need to rremember that the folks in "the trenches" are not to blame. We need to remember to be courteous to them, despite our frustrations with the process. We need to remember -------- to take "the high road". In doing so, there is no looser!

Very nice, Teeb!
Yup, I'm with Bill and everyone- PRETTY IMPRESSIVE to get the results that quickly under the circumstances- that really blew me away. I drew a tag for a hunt that starts August 1st and I would've had only 30 days to prepare if it had gone until July 1st to post. I don't know how they did it, but it sure helped me out! THANKS ODFW! ![]()

Yes, they did an outstanding job dealing with the situation. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the results available about the same time or earlier than they usually are? If so, to do that even with the extended deadline is amazing. Thanks ODFW.
