Default Celilo Pool 5-9-09

Well I finally went to bass school. Exbassguide graced me with his presence on Tuesday and we made a trip out of the Celilo pool. I know many of you know this but - what a great guy Roger is! Couldn't ask for a nicer fishing partner. He showed me a couple spots and what to look for and then we went and found a couple other spots.

We put about 40-50 fish in the boat from 8am-3pm. Beautiful sunny flat calm day. This was my first trip to the Celilo pool and also the most fish I put in my Lund. Hopefully that officially removes whatever skunk was hanging on to it. A bit of a trek (2 hrs one way) but well worth a few trips a year if I can repeat the success I had with Roger.

Now the true test will be me putting this new knowledge on where to find the fishies to the test closer to home (Cascade Locks / Portco). If I can pull this off by myself I will be in hoggy heaven.

All fish were caught in about 7-10 feet of water in the current seams next to structure. Roger showed off his senko tactics while I stuck with my tube jig. Greens and grays with some flake seemed to be the ticket all day.

Thanks again Roger. The trip and knowledge mean a lot to me. There is always an open seat on the green Lund for you!

You can put the fish in the boat very well. You are on your way to hundreds of bass this year if you get out a few times. I enjoyed fishing with you!
Thanks for the boat ride and fishing!!!!!!

I've heard rumors that Roger brings aboard
just a single rod and a pocket full of tackle
and still rakes em in..!
